Part of the city NOT long island. I got intoa huge argument with this random girl form school over it. First of all why the hell she was in the green room I don't know, but we were chatting and she mentioned she lived in happauge and I said "oh thats far", and she was SO rude she was like "i guess you don't travel much" I said no, I'm just not from long island, so to me it's pretty far out. Where are you from? "Queens" "that's aprt of long island" "no, not really" "yes it is".. "Whatever, the point is, I was jsut saying happague is far out" "I feel sorry for you, you don't travel much" "no, I just don't travel to BORING places where there's NOTHING to do."

I agree with PrincessRose too - geographically it is on LI, but politically it is part of NYC. Although, when I say I'm going to the "city" I always mean Manhattan, never any of the other boroughs.

Re: Would you consider Queens....

where ever the NYPD patrols is NYC....but then again I dont consider Staten Island the city...I always refer to it as SI....I guess I have to rethink this one.

I call Queens "the city"... I grew up there, and considered Long Island to be a foreign country that you just happened to NOT need a plane to get to!

LOL I completely agree.

When I was a kid, going to LI was "going to the country"

Re: Would you consider Queens....

parts of Queens are like LI and parts are more City-like.

i honestly do not consider it EITHER.

i tink it is the LEAST city-like of teh 5 boroughs, yet still not the same as LI.

make sense?

Re: Would you consider Queens....

I dont consider it either. It is its own place all together. When I say Im going to the city I mean Manhatten and when I am going someplace further then Nassau I say Im going to " LI"
SI I consider to be its own continent Chat Icon
