London and Amsterdam help
Hi Girls! First i want to say hello to everyone since this is my first post on Lifamilies. I've been on liweddings for a few years and decided to come over here! Dh and i are planning a trip to London and Amsterdam for next April. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations. We want to stay somewhere nice and in a good location but not to pricey. Maybe a bed and breakfast in Amsterdam? Any advice on tours and stuff would be appreciated too!

Re: London and Amsterdam help
I have been to Amsterdam 5X (Yeah I have a problem ) I love it!!! Gorgeous City with so much to do.
I would recommend the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre hotel. It's a little pricey, not crazy but it is in the middle of everything and I have stayed there every time I have been.
Def. check out a boat tours, you can rent bikes and just tour the city, I would recommend a tour of the Ann Frank House just because it really is something to see, all the museums are great as well.
Look at this place

Re: London and Amsterdam help
I've been to London twice. I don't remember the name of the hotel I stayed in the first time, but when I went for my honeymoon in 2005, we stayed in Kensington at Harrington Hall Hotel. It was very nice, quaint and comfortable in a great location. We were a block away from a Tube station and it wasn't in a very crowded area, nice area pubs as well.

Re: London and Amsterdam help
We stayed at the Park City in London. It is located in Lexham Gardens in Kensignton. It was a 3-5 block walk to either the Gloucster Road, Earls Court, or High Street/Kensington Tube stops. It was a residential area for the most part - a few hotels, a supermarket .. not much 'nightlife' in the immediate surroundings unless you walked up to High Street. The room was nice and the beds super comfortable.

Re: London and Amsterdam help
I've been to London 9 times and Amsterdam 5 times. Most of the time I stayed with friends or in student houses. But I did stay in a hotel once in Amsterdam and it was the Marriott in Leidseplein. From what I remember it was really good. I can't comment on the price, b/c I only paid $13 a night b/c my friend worked for them at the time and we got a nice discount which was split 3 ways.
ETA: Just remembered I went another time and stayed at the Marriott Renaissance and it was really nice. Again I got a discount and an upgraded room, but it was a nice hotel.
ETA (my memory is really bad from those 5 visits): I stayed at a Thistle by Victoria station (London) and it was crap- don't stay there.

Re: London and Amsterdam help
We stayed at the most awesome hotel in Amsterdam - the Hotel Pulizter (it was the hotel in one of the Ocean's movies). I don't know how much it was because we used points but it was beauiful and in a great location.
In London we stayed I think at a Hilton in the Mayfair section - the hotel was nice but not in a lively part of town.
