Re: Question re: OPK's
I used the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, which can run $200 alone, plus additional costs for the test sticks. Worth every penny to me, as we got pregnant both times exactly when we wanted. However, I was using the monitor for months before we were actually TTC so that I could get a sense of my cycles, which had been a little irregular. Its really the only experience I have with OPK's, so I hope that helps.

Re: Question re: OPK's
we started out with "whatever happens happens", and well...nothing happened...
i read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and used a couple OPK's to verify when i believed to be fertile (couldn't measure things to the day, but close enough). i didn't go nuts with them, and got pregnant when i wasn't using one, but at that point i had a better idea of what was going on with my body...
ETA: i used the cheepie POAS ones i think in the $20-35(?) range found at CVS.

Re: Question re: OPK's
They definately help. I won't say that you will get pregnant the first month using them necessarily but you will at least know where your cycle is at. I used the ones from the dollar store and they worked fine.
