What do you have in your writing center?
I teach 1st and am looking for some ideas. So far I have:
pencils art supplies for pictures (markers, crayons, etc) erasers a few paper choices blank books drawing/construction paper envelopes how to draw books letter stencils stapler
Any other ideas?

YES! I have these great word wall type of books, one for each letter, and then theme related (like weather words, months, food words, etc.) They are little flip books with pictures that the kids can use if they want to write a word the grownup way (I teach kindergarten). I love these little books. I think they are from Lakeshore.

I got a whole bunch of old picture books and cut out the picutres and glued them to construction paper. This way when the children need something to write about, they can take a picture and write a story about it.
