Ummm...excuse, Tommy, I'm speaking right now.
When the teacher speaks, you are to listen.
His reply...
ready for this one???
But I'm talking to my friend. I like to talk to my friend and I'm going to talk to her instead.
And yes, he kept on talking to his friend.
I guess he missed the memo that THIS IS SCHOOL!!!

Haha!!! I can just see it...it's right up there with, "I should be in the kitchen center right now" (when we are doing reading)

OMG...that's classic! Y'know...I wouldn't be surprised if I heard that from one of my students...

Re: Ummm...excuse, Tommy, I'm speaking right now.
I find myself wondering:
1) What grade? 2) Spectrum?
I had a child who was on the spectrum and let me tell you--he'd tell it like it was! I'm hoping that you maybe just teach a younger grade and are still establishing school routines!

1st Grade. I know they are really still kindergarteners, but this one takes the cake. I found out that he has a LATE birthday...hmmmm, I figured.

I can relate, I have 25 1st graders and half of them have late birthdays. The principal admitted a bunch of them in kindergarten even though they were born after the cut off date. I have lots of 5 year old in my class. They are so immature and chatty. It's going to be a tough year.

Sounds like some kids I have had...I NEVER heard a kid say that to a teacher when I was in school
