Digital Scrapbooking
two questions ( or more)
DO you have to pay for this? How does it work?
And when the page is done. DO you keep it online only or do you print it out and put in an album?
THANKS ( sorry dumb ?'s) eta- Looked over some old posts and I dont have any of the software, so in the end it could cost as much if not more then a regular one? And looks maybe harder? Im clueless though.

Re: Digital Scrapbooking
Those questions aren't dumb at all!
It will cost you something if you don't have a program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop to work with. there is some other software I've heard of but I'm not sure I recall what it is.
Aside from that, it doesn't have to cost you anything. You can download the supplies for free from different sites and you can make your own..
This link will give you more information. It's where I learned. Digital Scrapbooking 101
I print some of my pages, depending on how my printer is feeling that day. Otherwise they're all stored online.
There are other sites as well that have instructions and freebies, but digitalscrapbookplace.com is my favorite.
ETA: not having the software makes it a bit of an expense in the beginning, but I think in the long run if this is a hobby you stick with, it won't cost as much as paper because you can use the same supplies over and over again. And I think once you get the hang of things, it's easier than paper because you can always 'undo'.

Ok more questions. It seems so hard, I feel like a dope.
Maybe IW ill wait and ask for Christmas for software....
Would anyone suggest I get Adobe or something or more of a digital scrapbooking software?
Can Anyone give me some REAL basics on whats needed to start? Which programs?
Im reading a tutorial that says I can use Picasa, which I have, but I dont see how.

Re: Digital Scrapbooking
This thread has tons of great (Free) resources.
I've never paid for anything for digital scrapbooking and have SO many things on my comp for it. There are so many free resources out there that i kind of refuse to pay for it
Also, Sprague labs (not sure if its mentioned on that other thread) has alot of step-by-step tutorials to follow that are pretty easy imo.

I have gone through every single thing on that thread. It doesnt really tell me the basics , where to start if I have no programs etc.
Im not lookign to get any downloads yet, need to figure out how to do it first and what program to do it in. ( I have none on this pc).
I will check out sprague labs!

I've only done it in photoshop, but i think you could even do it in MS Word. In PS, i just put all the things on the page that i want, and then move the layers around to where i want them to be (some things in the background, some in front). It might be less user-friendly to do in Word, but you could probably format the page to the size you want and then just use the "add image" option and click on the image to size it up or down. I've never tried it that way, but i'm sure it's probably possible. (if you google- they probably have clearer tips for using it).

Re: Digital Scrapbooking
EVERYTHING I have for digi-scrapbooking I downloaded for free.
Just do a search and look at all the stuff that comes up. I search weekly, because most sites add new stuff once a week.

Re: Digital Scrapbooking
I use howfasttheygrow.com they have premade templates where you just upload your pics and you can change the copy. Then you have them printed.
