I'm new here....
HI everyone. I am new to LIF. Just got married 9/24/05. We are not TTC yet. Hopefully we will begin sometime towards the end of the year. I am here just trying to get educated in the meantime. I am on the pill and have been for a VERY LONG TIME! Which concerns me when we begin TTC.
I noticed that everyone does these charts to see when they are ovulating. Is this something that must be done in order to conceive? This may sound silly, but i thought if we just did the deed for a while on a regular basis we would try our luck. And if that didn't work then try other options. When i get off the pill, should i start charting?
Sorry this is so long. I have a lot of questions.

Re: I'm new here....
Charting seems to be a great way to get to know your body both for birth control and for pregnancy acheivement. It can also clue you in to any issues. I just stated so I don't have much info but if you do a google search for basal body temperature you should find all the info you need and a blank chart

Re: I'm new here....
HI and welcome! There is no reason not to jsut enjoy the process and have fun but charting ( taking temps and such) are a much more accurate way to really KNOW when your Ovulating so you can make sure you "have fun" at that time... Most of us are joined at FertiltyFriend.com, and we look at each others charts and offer opinions and advice.. Again, there is no reason to HAVE to do any of that if you dont want to.

Re: I'm new here....
Welcome!!!
I tried the good old fashion way myself for awhile, but then quickly grew impatient! I was under the impression that everyone O's on day 14 (which could be one reason I never got PG) since I learned from temping and using a fertility monitor that I actually O around day 18-20!!!
I know many women who never charted and was successful! It's a personal choice!
Good Luck!!!

Re: I'm new here....
I did it the old fashion way and it worked for me. You can give it a try and if you get fustrated then try charting. Welcome and good luck when the time comes.
