What could be causing my back pain?
SO last night my back began killing me. It is still hurting, a constant pain. It REALLY hurts when I turn side to side
any ideas? Would cold or heat be better for the pain

Re: What could be causing my back pain?
I would think heat would be better for the pain. Could it be a pulled muscle?

I took a muscle relaxer last night and it did not even TOUCH the pain
if it is not a muscle strain / pull, what the heck else could it be ?

Re: What could be causing my back pain?
you could have a pinched nerve. My DH has a back of a 80 yr old man. Nerve = ice, muscle= heat. Try the ice on and off for 20 min. You made a chiro.

ITA with all of this. I have the back of an 80 year old as well.
Find a good chiropractor--I completely SWEAR by chiropractic, and a good Dr. can get you feeling back to normal in just a few sessions.
I've had a rough time finding a chiropractor that I LOVE since moving here, but I'm positive that he or she is out there...

Thanks for the tips, I will try ice
I went to a walk in clinic and the PA prescribed me steriods cause I said the muscle relaxers and naproxen was not doing a thing
maybe the steriods will help

Re: What could be causing my back pain?
Sounds like the pain I had when I pulled a muscle in my back. I swore it had to be something worse because the pain was awful but about 3 days of rest (lying down, no lifting rest) I felt like a new woman. Now my other back ailments are a whole other story.
I did heat to ease the pain a bit.

Re: What could be causing my back pain?
I have a good one in Hewlett. His name is Dr Carl Pesa. When ever my sciatica acts up I call him.
I have a bad back also.....from a car accident I was in back in 1999. I have 2 herniated discs in my back, 1 deteriorating disc in my lower back, and sciatica.
