Need ideas for a period i have with 10 6th graders
We have whats called Advisory in my school and this year they tried ot make it fun stuff like clubs and stuff( chess club, literary club, science club etc). I have no idea what to do. Any ideasa. I was thinking liek movie club bit how would i work that?

They have critics club at my daughter's school. They watch a movie (obviously takes a few days) and then they have to write a review on it.

Community Service Club
Arts and Crafts
Poetry Club
This year a coworker and I are doing a joint, Yoga and Pilates Group
Others have done:
Book Club
Dance/Cheerleading
Flag Football
Board Games
Fantasy ________
College Research
Computers/Typing

do you have a hobby you love?
What about reading a book aloud to them...research shows that reading aloud into the teen years in beneficial

Why don't you ask the kids what they would like? Tell them it is a time for them to learn something that they have always wanted to learn.
Our school has advisory, but it is a mixture of study skills, counselling, peer topics, current events, health...etc
