Jersey Shore for Summer 2009

Can anyone give me some input on the Jersey Shore? I would like to rent a house for a week next year, preferably the week of July 4th.

It would be for me, DH, DD, my Friend, her DH & 2 kids (4 & 3 next summer).

We would like something on the bay, if possible.

i was born and raised in NJ... ocean city and Long Beach Island (LBI) are both nice, family-friendly towns.
Ocean city is great because it has a boardwalk, so you can do that at night or if you just want a day off of the beach. Ocean city is also a "dry" town- there are no bars or liquor stores, so that really keeps down on some of the not-so-nice people. its also where DH and i got engaged, so i'm a little biased
LBI is great, too-- clean, nice. theres not boardwalk there, but theres an amusement park and water slide park there, plus a lot of mini golf courses and stuff like that, too.
i beleive both town have a lot of houses available for rent... good luck!!

i recommend long beach island. we rent a house down there every couple of years.
it is very family oriented. very safe. a family member left a stroller on the sidewalk when she was out shopping and forgot it. she went back the next day and it was in the same place. she was shocked since she grew up in an unsafe place.

we have always used one realtor. if you want the realtor information. fm me. we usually book the place in october for the following summer since we need at least at 5 - 6 bedroom house and they book up fast.
