For the Met game on Sunday..
is there any information out there, as to what time the ceremony is starting and who will be there?
I read somewhere that Piazza was going to be there

Re: For the Met game on Sunday..
DH was saying that the Mets might be tied with Milwaukee and they might have to have a "regular season game" to find out who wins the wild card. He says this would be Monday and considered the "last home game". Anyone know about this?

not sure about this
it happened before a few years ago, and when it did, the final scheduled game on the sunday was "the final regular season game"
then, they did this tiebreaker game the next day and billed it a "one-game playoff"

I have a toddler sized Piazza jersey that my DS will be wearing on Sunday. It was my Godson's when he was a toddler. I gave it to him and then my friend gave it back to me after I had DS cuz she knows i'm a met fan and thought that I'd might like to have it.
I loved Piazza!

Re: For the Met game on Sunday..
The Mets released that Willie Mays will be in attendance. For any other former Mets, they will not release any other names. On the Fan this morning, there are rumors going around about Doc Gooden. From what I've read in the press, he has some hard feelings regarding Mets management, but I really hope he's going to be there. He should and deserves to be there.

I haven't heard much yet, but I am thinking that it is likely there will be a rainout Friday and/or saturday, and our game will be later. I really don't want it to be a night game though. I will not be happy at work on monday, and I can't call in!

Re: For the Met game on Sunday..
i think we're OK if we get tonight's game in
if that game (vs. the Cubs) gets rained out, they HAVE to make it up because it effects pennant and wild card races.
That game would likely be pushed to Monday, making THAT game the last regular season game
I think they'll play tonight and wait it out as long as they can. If the game starts, they will finish it - no matter what
Tomorrow night may get rained out - meaning a double header on Saturday, most likely

Re: For the Met game on Sunday..
On the Mets website, they just confirm that they will be having the ceremony after the game on Sunday. Marc Anthony will be singing the National Anthem and Glenn Close will be singing God Bless America during the 7th inning. Also, they have confirmed that Mike Piazza will be there along with Tom Seaver, Willie Mays at 45 other former Mets.
On a side note, tomorrow there will be an autograph convention at Bruno's in Astoria of former Mets, which will include Doc Gooden. Unfortunately, you need tickets to get autographs and I missed out.
