Update on DH
The doctor told him the results of the cat scan show there's an inflammation in his intestines. Of course, being a GP, he doesn't know what could cause this, so now DH has to see a gastroentologist (sp?). He will see him on Friday...
Is this serious?
What can cause an inflammation in the intestines?

I had to swallow my pride one time, and that caused some painful inflammation in my intestine...... 
(Just trying to lighten the mood a bit  )
It could be something that got lodged in there and is causing the inflammation. That should be easy to fix.
I wouldn't stress about it until someone gives you a concrete reason to stress. He may just need to eat more roughage, and that will fix everything.... you never know....

blockage or an infection (diviticulistis comes to mind ....) .. also spastic colon/ibs.

diverticulosis or diverticuitis
ibs
crohns
dehydration-but blood work and a regular exam could rule that out
please try not to get crazy and stay off the internet. You will know as soon as the gastro sees the scan.
Do you need a gastro?

too late about going on the internet though. I'm trying not to go nuts with it.... He ate my chocolate bar I was saving, so maybe its not so bad!
