If you can go to the Smithhaven Jeep website at smithhhaven.com and copy and paste this message where it says contact us, I think it might help her to get a cheaper rate on her lease...its pretty easy and it would help so much!!!! You might want to change the word cousin to friend...


I am writing to you on behalf of my cousin Maria Lazazzaro. She is currently leasing a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 588.14 a month. Unfortuantely, tragedy has struck her children and it is no longer feasible for Maria to pay this much for this vehicle. Maria's two young children, Samantha (6) and Jake (3) are dying of a rare genetic disease called Cockayne Syndrome. The only treatment that gives them any glimmer of hope costs 45,00o dollars every six months. I realize you are under no obligation to help my cousin or her young children but doing so would bring a ray of sunshine into someone's life that is already a nightmare, Thank you for any consideration you can give to this matter

Maria recently received a call from Mike James of Smith Haven Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, who told herthe following:

a) There was no way they could help out with this lease add,
b) could she find a way to prevent the emails from coming as they were very "annoying" and
clogging his message box

I am heartsick and distressed that my efforts to help my cousin have caused her more grief. I can only take some solace in the fact that fortunately there are a great many car dealerships on Long Island and I will never have to visit this one.

My name is Christine ***** and I am writting to you on behalf of Maria Lazazzaro. Let me ask you.... how do you sleep at night?? Really?? Do you even have a heart?? We are all in tough times with the economy with the way that it is. But for you to tell a woman that has 2 children struck with a rare genetic disease that our emails of request to help are "annoying" you and that there is nothing that you can do!!! The automotive industry is a muli million dollar industry!! You can extend her payemnts out so that the monthly rate will be more affordable. You can delay her payments for several months so that she can catch up on the medication that saving her childrens lives that costs her $45,000 every six months. Or you can even put her into another vechile that would be a little more affordable for her in this tough time. But for you... to say that there is "nothing" that you can do????? Why don't you even call Channel 12 News and have them do a story on you donating this car to this woman and get some press for your dealership!!! If you took the time to show the slightest bit of compassion... I bet you could come up with something!!! What I can promise you Mike James is that you will not like the press coverage of your "do nothing annoying" attitude!!! Take a good long hard look at yourself in the mirror!!!!

OMG that is terrible!

I agree, get in touch with the financing company. The way the economy is these days, the companies would rather your cousin pay what she can then default on the loan completely.

I would contact the local news channels and the papers

I feel like they would do a story on this- and maybe some public pressure can help
