Lower back issues
I truly believe it's been brought on by working out.
I have noticed over the years, when I do bent over rows or any exercise where I bend at the waist, I can't do it it for very long. Back just gets VERY tired.
Well over the summer, it's gotten worse. I remember a specific class this summer where I almost couldn't do squats at one point. The class was hell to get through.
I have days completely discomfort-free. And I know to modify any exercises when I feel something. But the fact that I feel this tightness in my lower back when I go out walking is NOT a good sign.
Any advice? I go to a chiropractor and he just thinks I'm one of those people with a weak back. But I do notice it's just become progressively worse.
Any particular doctor I should see? A trainer at the gym said maybe someone in sports medicine...I dunno. Has anyone gone through this? I really hope it's not as bad as I think it is. I love working out and I don't want anything to force me out of my routine.
Thanks!

Re: Lower back issues
I seem to have a very similar issue. Most of the intense discomfort has subsided, but i do feel it once in a while. I also don't think that not being able to bend over and put socks on in the AM is normal, definitely an issue!
I would see a orthopedic that specializes in sports medicine and works with athletes and then go from there. I would not stop at a "this is how it is" answer until you have exausted all your resources.
Good luck, I will be exploring my options after the marathon. At this point I just need to get through the race.
Feel better

Re: Lower back issues
Do you do exercises to specifically strengthen your low back muscles?
Roman chair back extentions, dead lifts, russian twists and plank holds are excellant. Or if nothing else use the back extension machine. And make sure you stretch your lower back after your workout, just like any other muscle those need to be stretched.
Hope you feel better!
