? about freezing chicken
If you buy a large pack of bonless chicken or any kind of chicken and aren't going to use them all in one shot what do you freeze them in to keep them from becoming frost bit?

Re: ? about freezing chicken
Is your freezer too cold maybe?
I keep mine in Ziploc freezer bags and I've never had a problem with freezerburn.
Also, just FYI - Costco sells boneless skinless chicken breasts that are individually wrapped (frozen).

I actually haven't done this so I don't know if it would get frost bit I just wanted to make sure just a ziploc would be ok. I figured I would try to avoid the above of happening The individually wrapped chicken at costco do you find more expensive then the other packages?

Re: ? about freezing chicken
I just bought a ton of chicken at Stop & Shop yesterday on sale. Ziplock Freezer Bags work great. I have enough chicken for about 2 months or more now.
FYI: White Gem 1.99/lb Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 1.29/lb Chicken Thighs & Drumsticks (skin on) 99/lb Whole Chicken

Re: ? about freezing chicken
I usually wrap individual pieces in saran wrap and then put all in a ziploc (so I can take out a couple at a time to defrost since there are only of us )

Re: ? about freezing chicken
we buy tyson already frozen from Sam's Club. its a big bag, and i find its usually pretty comparable to the grocery store. they are individual peices, so we just take out however many we need for that meal. if i buy chicken at the grocery store, we freeze it in ziploc freezer bags. there are 2 of us, so i usually just put 2 peices in each freezer bag and take one bag out when i need it... i LOVE using my freezer!! i freeze all of our meats ( ground beef, pork chops, etc). that way we always have some on hand. i am also always making meals to freeze- chili, taco meat, stuffed shells... that way i always have something we can eat if we don't feel like cooking

Re: ? about freezing chicken
We use Ziploc freezer bags when we buy meat (chicken, pork or beef) to keep in the freezer.
I've also found at BJs that Perdue is selling their meat already in vacuumed sealed frozen bags.
I haven't had any issues either way.

Re: ? about freezing chicken
I freeze one or two pieces in a small sandwhich bag and put all those bags in a large freezer bag and then defrost what I need.
