My DH just completely got us banned from delivery from the pizzeria!
My DH and I has been ordering delivery from the place directly across the street for years. We order from there relatively often (cause we're lazy and they're good). DH usually pays the guy.
So DH just picks up an order right now, and it takes awhile. I ask DH why, and he tells me that the guy refuses to deliver here anymore because he works on tips and DH HAS NOT BEEN TIPPING THE GUY. He figured it was just across the street! I could kill him! I am so embrassed!
I pointed out that you tip anyway, and now DH is sorry and wants to go over to the pizzeria and give the guy a tip. What do you all think?

he should be tipping..less because its across the street, but its still common and I think neccesary to tip.
I am a little dissapointed in them for just banning the delivery, they could have figured out a better way of saying somethng.

So DH just went over there, apologized and offered the guy a five. The guy refused the money, saying all he wanted was the apology.
Oh man.

I find it hard to believe that a delivery guy works on tips alone but maybe I have no idea what I am talking about.
I am one who feels tipping is out of control and while I probably would have tipped the guy on a regular basis it wouldn't be becuase I wanted to it would be because I felt like I had to. I mean after all it's across the street.

delivery people only make a couple bucks an hour. Since it's a "tipping profession" he could probably only be earning $2 per hour from the pizza place.
