TENS Machine for back pain
Ugh. I have slipped a disc in my back, and I am in really terrible pain. I went to see a Physiotherapist yesterday and it was a new experience...
We did some exercises, and used an electrical pain relief machine, and when he got me in a comfortable position, he taped a grid on my back, so my movements are very limited.
Anyway, so I was thinking that I would go out and buy a TENS Machine today, does anyone have any experience with this kind of pain relief? Any reviews?
I used a maternity tens machine when I was in labour with my son and it helped a lot with a long and painful labour.
Anyway, if anyone has any input, that would be great. I am keen to NOT take any painkilers if I can avoid it.

Re: TENS Machine for back pain
Our chiro ordered us a tens unit for our backs years ago and it has been a lifesaver so many times. I love that thing and, our insurance covered it!

I don't have any experience with this, but I just wanted to send you because I know EXACTLY what you're going through.
I've had a badly ruptured disc for about 24 weeks now, and I can't have anything done about it until after my baby comes in 8 weeks. It's been absolutely torture.

I don't have any experience with it, yet! Someone just suggested that I should try a tens unit for my neck, either through the chiropractor or phys. therapist. I've heard good things! Rachel, I hope you get relief real soon!! Feel better

Re: TENS Machine for back pain
Thanks for all your well wishes! I have been seeing a Physiotherapist for 2 sessions now and that has made A WORLD of difference, he taped up my back to limit my movement for 24 hours, and that was fantastic! I also bought myself a small tens machine, which I used this evening and that is great, along with a heating pad. I am feeling SOOOO much better!! I bought this one and it cost me £20, thats like $35, so I highly recommend this to anyone who has pain, its really great. Thanks for your support! It feels nice to know that people are thinking about you!
