Great article on how easy it is to get things past TSA..
This is all so true! We fly 10+ a year and I'd say Ive been able to "sneak" stuff on at least 90% of the time...
Article on how un-thorough TSA is...
It's a bit disturbing..
ETA: by "sneak" I mean bringing extra Purrells, or 2 ziploc bags of liquids per person, etc. I'm not bringing anything dangerous on

I flew recently with DD I told them I had liquids with me for the baby but they never made me open my bag (I had gel ice to keep the milk cold) bottled water etc - they never once opened my bag or asked to see anything. I was really surprised I wasn't bringing anything not allowed but I did expect them to give everything a thorough check out.

And we are paying extra for this "Security Theater". I always thought it was BS but I am discouraged that it's worse then I thought.
Every time I fly, I see a bucket of tossed unopen water bottles but this guy gets knives through. That makes perfect sense.

It definately is scary & since I have been flying a lot more often, I see it first hand. It is rather disturbing when you are flying out of JFK & watch the screeners not really pay attention as the bags are going through the scanner 
I have found though that airports in rural areas are A LOT more thorough & I think it is bc they have the time. That should not be the excuse but it is scary...

ITA agree with you, about the other airports being more thorough than JFK!
