So im trying to teach myself to crochet
I just did something on the needle not sure it's crocheting 
I got a book from the library and I am overwhelmed at all the different stitches

Ughhh im so lost  I got the single crochet chain. But i've been sitting here for a couple of hours trying to start the next row

Did you get the idiot's guide to crocheting and knitting? I got that and it is really good- I taught myself to knit that way. Look for videos online, they are really helpful.

I've been trying to learn for about 5 years! I cannot understand wth the book is saying 
So far, I've made about a million blankets, with either a double or triple stitch going back and forth for what seems like forever

The best advice I can give you is seach for videos on youtube. They helped me soooo much. I guess I am a visual learner, because the books I got were confusing to me, but the videos were great for me! Have fun!
