Please help me get out...
I can't take the chronic breeches of ethics, the pettiness, the backstabbing, and the work overload that are the norm in my school. I've got to get out.
I know that there are job positngs on NY Times and the OLAS website. Where else am I likely to find job postings? How do I find information about upcoming educatior job fairs? Please help me. I'm a lil desperate here.
Thanks.

Try the dowling.edu site. If you go on it, and click on "current students" there's something that says "My Dowling." CLick on that and scroll down the page, and it says "Current Educational JOb Openings." The list is compiled every week from OLAS, NY Times, SCOPE, and anywhere that advertises for teachers. I know of several people that have gotten jobs through there.

I'm sure you know this...but almost every school i have worked in is like this...private sector too...it seems like it's human nature.
good luck though - i think February you will start to see more jobs (for Sept)

I've actually worked in other schools (I had two year-long leave replacement positions before this one). And none were quite like this. I have the work of two people - literally. I work 12-hour days, summers, vacations... but it took me TWO YEARS to get a working printer in my office. Now my admins want to put another guidance counselor in my office with me. (Um hello, ethical violation!) I'm officially done.
So... any tips on how to find educator job fairs and/or job postings? The Dowling site definitely looks promising. Thanks!!
