Neutral site for World Series?

Michael Kay was talking about this on 1050. I guess the MLB wants to discuss the possibility of placing the World Series at a neutral site.

I say NO NO NO!!! Never ever EVER should you take the World Series away from the fans. Sure, your home team might win the series at an away game, but you at least get to go to a few games in the series. And yeah, so what, the weather really suuucked this year for the Phillies...no need to move it to a warmer climate or to a stadium with a dome. This isn't the Super Bowl.

And for one thing, especially depending on the teams, you'd get an AWFUL turnout. For one thing, the whole thing is 7 games (or less). Ridiculous.

If you want avoid the weather problem, shorten the playoffs. Make the DS 3 games (), CS 5 games. But no, that'll never happen. TV rules the world.

This would be awful! Just awful!!! I always felt bad for the football fans who couldn't experience their team in the super bowl and I never understood why they did that. If they did this to baseball, I would be so sad.

I also agree that it would get an awful turnout. Especially game 7. I mean, how many fans from out of town are going to buy tickets, pay for plane fare and book a hotel for a game that may or may not happen??? If it's in your town, it's different.

I completely agree with you Tara. What if they pick a stadium and those fans are rivals of the team playing, I bet people wouldn't go.
