SO Irritated with my co-worker
over the weekend, i emailed two co-workers for help with something pertaining to a hotel. Now one of them is 'responsible' for the hotel but the other one could answer my question, knew I needed to get work wrapped up on sunday AND checks email over the weekend. So the girl who checks email on the weekend gave me my answer and the girl who is 'responsible' for the hotel sends us both an email basically saying how wrong that is unless it's an emergency all departments who want info about any of the hotels she works with have to wait until working hours because she is not paid (nor are any of us) to check email on weekends. i am SO p*ssed at her right now you have no idea. I responded with an email about teamwork and she just wrote back that she's happy to help but if I have questions over the weekend, I have to wait until Monday regardless of a deadline. ARGH!!!!
ETA: It's gotten worse and I hate to say it, but i'm going to be shocked if this girl isn't let go. yesterday she emails the VP of our office who mind you, is in London right now attending the biggest company meeting of the year, to complain (for the 2nd time) about how the girl next to her plays her radio too loud. Instead of just turning her head to the girl and politely asking her to shut it or lower it, she bothers him! Like he has nothing better to do....argh.

Re: SO Irritated with my co-worker
Honestly, I'd be kind of annoyed if a co-worker expected me to work over the weekend to help them meet a deadline they knew about before the weekend. The email about team work would not be well received either.
I do work over the weekend even though I am not paid for it but I wouldn't expect or ask anyone else to - I always make sure I have what I need before hand so I can do what I need to do.

Re: SO Irritated with my co-worker
Honestly, if she's not checking email over the weekend, then she didn't get it over the weekend, right? So no skin off her back. Why is she so upset? It's not like you called her at home on Sunday or commented to her about her not checking her email on Sunday.
I don't see what the big deal is. I think she needs to relax and I also think her email was very inappropriate.

Re: SO Irritated with my co-worker
Send an email back saying "Ok. I'll send the email & wait for your response on Mondays" and cc your boss.
This is NOT the economy to not be a team player & go the extra mile - particularly where customer service is involved.
