driving from Nassau County to Giants game
If I had to drive to the Giants game on Sunday from south western Nassau county, what time should I leave?
The game starts at 1. I don't know if we have special parking yet or not.

I would give yourself 1 1/2-2 hours. You never know with traffic.
I personally would leave really early and just hangout. I'd rather be waiting there than be stuck in traffic.

Re: driving from Nassau County to Giants game
the parking situation makes a HUGE difference.
Because of ongoing construction at the stadium - the parking thing is HORRENDOUS.
I want to say you should leave at like 11:00 to get there in plenty of time to park, take the bus to the stadium, etc....
The George also tends to get VERY backed up...

I agree with this. I'm not sure about travel time but we recently arrived for a 1:00 game a few minutes before kickoff and we didn't make it to our seats until a few minutes into the second quarter. We had to take 2 shuttle buses from the parking lot they directed us to and then it was still a long walk from the bus to the stadium.

Thanks all! I'll report back when I find out about the parking situation. DH is getting these tickets through a vendor at work... and I'm sure he'll want to leave early to tail gate with them. They have HUGE trailers with flat screen TVs and tons of food.
I REALLY wanted to ride my horses before we left, but I'm not sure I can be back and showered by 10am... I'm still trying to see if DH wants to take my dad instead of me!

If you need to use the satellite parking - tack on an hour for that over your drive time.
You'll need to wait for a bus - and then the long walk from the farthest part of the parking lot to the stadium.
If you can get a parking pass - buy it, it's worth it.

you aren't supposed to tailgate in any of the 'remote' lots.
i'm not sure how strictly they are enforcing this though....

He wouldn't be in the remote lot. I said he wants to tailgate with the vendors who entertain us when we go to these things. THEY set up huge trailers in areas where are ARE allowed to tailgate. They've been doing it for years.

No need to apologize. That was good info - just explaining what I meant earlier.
