ok i want to ohh some people! sorry kinda long but i really could use some advice

yesterday i was talking to my girlfriend about her kids baptizm(i am godmother to one)and told her i will get the cake for the kids. not a big deal right... well needless to say her hubby(someone i went to school with) flipped out on me and when i say flipped i mean flipped out! long story short i called her and said he has some nerve and if he ever want to have any kind of friendship with his only friend ever again he has alot of appoligsing to do. well he did call and in great leangh on my voice mail did. ok i an still po'ed but ok what ever (i know he has somethings going on but do not take it out on me)
well now today he just called me and asked if i was still willing to get the cake and if i would mind if i could have people come to my house just for cake and coffee. which i did offer with out a second thought(they live in a place where it is not ok to have a even a small party) i say sure it's for the kids. they he has the nerve to say to me tell him(dh) to have the place fixed up before hand i was blown away by this.... house is under construction and the living room stuff in in the dinning room and what little stuff in the living room is placed in the middle or out of our way(where doing it our selfs to save money but time for it is scares so it is taking along time) but omg! how could he! i still have yet to tell dh he has said this that would cause yet another fight! what do i do? i do not mind having it but come on someone is opening there home to you and yopu tell them to get it ready for you! am wrong ? how do i handle this? sorry so long

I don't really have any advice just want to give you some Your gf's hubby sounds like a real a-hole!

I would say "Sorry, I just can't get the house in order like I thought". Isn't there a grandmother or an aunt who would be happy to give a party for them?
