Anyone know how I can go about sponsering a family in need for Christmas?

A patient I had the other day, mentioned that Newsday was sponsoring a program to sponser families in need. Newsday.com might have some info on. I think its a great idea.. i just dont have the cash to do.

i know you can call your local church and make donation to a family....sometimes they even send a thank you.....the good thing about the church also is there is no set amount for donation...they would accept 50-5000 dollars
