Angel Tree or Similar Charity Kid's Holiday Gift Giving?

I was wondering if the malls around here do something like the Angel tree - where they have a tree at the mall w/names of children who need presents - you take a name and buy them a gift and drop it back off at the mall. (Angel Tree is a charity for children who have a parent in prison, so you actually buy the gift, but when the child gets the gift it says it's from that parent).

I hope this makes sense Chat Icon I just like to give kids in need gifts this time of year but I prefer to shop specifically for a certain child. (Though we are doing Toys For tots t work, and I will be donating to that!)

The salvation army used to have a tree at roosevelt field mall and the source. Im not sure if they still do it.

ETA: You can get a letter to santa from NY Cares but the gifts need to be brought to the city.

I dont know exactly where you are, but yes.. Salvation Army does Trees (i think its SA)

I give to battered women's shelters. Almost all of them offer this as well. You can give to children and mothers who are trying to get back to a normal life.

We have one here at work...there is a bunch of kids that still needs gifts. F/M me your info and maybe we can coordinate pickup/drop-off (if you are in the Melville area).

Can you send me info about where you donate? I would really like to do this. Thanks.

The Source Mall is right down the street from Roosevelt. On Old Country road going East.. you'll see it on your right just past Best Buy and Costcos if I remember correctly.

The malls aren't bad on weekdays at night and mornings on weekends. Just FYI.
