Is your district already talking about cuts??
Just wondering if anyone elses district is talking about cuts for next year with all the budget problems.
My school has pretty much let me know that my job, and alot of others, are gone next year

My DH is a teacher and although he is tenured there is a chance he could lose his job.... its very stressful for us because without his income we will no longer be able to afford our home (I work but my salary cannot pay the mortgage)

My district is talking about closing one of the elementary schools and letting 20 teachers go. I'm a permanent sub, so it's so frustrating to hear.

Mine is putting together a seniority list. They say they don't want to make cuts but they need the list just in case it comes down to that. I hope it doesn't

I don't think we will be losing staff, but our supply/book money won't increase.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a smartroom - but that's looking grim

i dont think we will have any midyear staff cuts, but we no longer have sub money or supply money. i doubt they will be paying teachers to score the ELA or Math tests, either. im sure we will be losing staff for the 09-10 school year though.

yes im in LI- it sucks b/c im a leave replacement for one year ends 3/09 so the chances of me getting a job looks bleak w/ all the talk of cuts- the superintendent visited our school about 2wks ago-
