Sometimes I forget...
Life with Ava has been soo hard, for such a long time.
Today, while I was taking a 1 minute break, I sat on the couch and watched her. She was playing by the Christmas tree and she didn't know I was watching her. She had a bunch of Jungle animal ornaments and she was having them "talk " to each other.
Something came over me- I wanted to cry. She was so sweet and innocent. She is turning into a big girl, but still has that baby face that I used to stroke in the chair as I rocked her to sleep at night as an infant. Her chubby cheecks, her beautiful eyelashes..
She is still that beautiful and loving baby that she used to be.. I just have to look a little harder to see it. She has a good heart and really wants to please. I just need to remember to look a little harder..and we will get through these tough times..

Thank you so much for sharing that. I really needed that today. I'm having a really rough time with my little guy lately. Your absolutely right, if we do look a little harder we will get through it.

That was so sweet. DS will be 2 next month and I've had those moments already.

I feel the same way.
Ryan has his days where it really wears me out with his temper, and defiance, but I sit back and look at him and really appreciate how lucky I am to have him in my life.

Re: Sometimes I forget...
I know the feeling! My DS has been making me crazy and I was in the car the other day and heard a song that was on his Baptism CD and I had to pull over, I was weeping by the side of the road. If it makes you feel any better, it's not only kids with special needs. I feel the same way with my DD too. It's just harder to get to that place sometimes with my DS. It's a good thing though, those reminders are essential.
