Do you think this is silly ? C/S related...
Well your all fairly familiar w/ the BM in my situation ....And that she nickels and dimes like nothing I've ever seen before ...
Finally my DH gets his "bills' from BM for the month of December and I just had to put this out there, and wondered if this is what everyone else pays as far as their step-kiddies...Its not a huge amount or anything, more principal I guess...In addition to his C/S , and childcare, and doctors bills , she sends him a receipt from Kohls and another receipt for reimbursement for 50% of my SD's Christmas dress and shoes for her holiday concert at school ...Keep in mind, this is the same woman that charges my DH for my SD's older sister to babysit her etc..., considers Kleenex part of school supplies etc....The list goes on...
Now obviously, given our situaution w/ her its nothing worth arguing or questioning her about , so we will just pay and be done with it , but seriously come on now ...If she was in a poor financial situation or going through a hard time, this wouldnt even be a thought of mine but since she is far from that- what gives ??...Just needed to vent and was wondering if shes off her rocker or maybe I am I just shake my head ( insert shake head icon here- LOL)

Re: Do you think this is silly ? C/S related...
My sons father pays me child support weekly. We never went through courts, I just came up with a price and we just agreed. (we were never married) However the only things in addition to child support I will ask for is : going half with my sons braces, half for eye exams with contacts (not covered under ins) and once in awhile I will ask for half of my sons soccer camps. But I would never ask him for half of my sons christmas outfit or school supplys. That I think is a little silly. But as you mentioned it might not be worth arguing about.

she is definately off her rocker!!!!
half for her Christmas outfit??? Isn't that what C/S helps to cover...clothing?Unbelievable......I agree though, not worth arguing over......just be sure it doesn't escalate......next thing she will be asking for half of what SD eats!

All in all my DH's ex doesnt really ask us for any of the extras that she is entitled to....
BUT...
In DH's divorce papers, on top of his C/S, Health Insurance, Extra Currs, he is responsible for half of school supplies, school pictures, religion, you name it...it's ridiculous..

She is being greedy!!! Nothing of course, that my SK bM wouldn't do, but totally greedy all the same. To answer your question....We pay $2150/mo in c/s + expenses( ) and she used to pay her mother for babysitting a 14 and 12 yr old

She tried the food thing in court because she wanted my DH to pay 50% of school lunches saying it was school related- This is one of the things that made her very "unpopular' w/ the magistrate ....That and her asking for 50 % of the gas she used to take her to extra-curriculars...no joke, she worked out on paper the amount of MPG her truck gets and started charting how much gas was used to and from activities...Mind you, she picked the activities and didnt ask for input from DH and took it upon herself to drive SD 11 exits on the LIE to go skating....Again the judge at her....

Never got hit for school-pics yet, but thats probably because she does everything in her power for us not to have any of her ( and thats the one expense we wouldnt mind paying) ...We do 50% school supplies also....My DH pays for religion , and according to BM, she only has her in religion because my DH had a religious upbringing and she did not ( and soes it show !)

We don't pay 1/2 for clothing. BUT, at the same time, I buy my SD a ton of clothes and this year I bought her her christmas outfit If she EVER even thought about asking us to split things like that, there would be a problem b/c we spend a lot on clothes for her.
That being said, I don't think she ever would ask us to split that.

That was me when SD was visiting with us....I'm a shop-a-holic and was always buying her new clothes ( shopping for a girl is always fun )....We have even bought her school clothes in past years, not because we had to but wanted to and then usually I would buy her a mini spring wardrobe- she used to get really excited whenever she came to see what new stuff was waiting for her...And then if it was our Christmas, Easter etc... we bought her the holiday outfit- it was always sent home with her, never to be seen again but the whole " holiday concert" thing just seems so nuts to me- Just another way of getting more $ I guess, and she knows my DH is so complacent and wouldn't bother even questioning it...Oh well- par for the course with her ...

We would do the same with SD...we would buy her new clothing, jackets, snowboots to keep in our house because she never had anything to wear while in our house...b/c everything went home to BMs house and we never saw the clothing again either....it still never worked...she would insist on taking the clothes to show her mom and yet she would still come to us with crappy clothes, one time in January - yes January she came with no coat! My DH said nothing to her mother

She is totally taking advantage of the fact that you are too nice and continue to pay for things like that.

As a BM I do not ask for any of that, he%% I'm lucky if I get child support on a timely manner. However I have asked for him to split some high ticket items like football and lacrosse camps and his braces as well

Right there with you...I see the amount of support others get and I shake my head..I don't get a pittance of what some of you ladies get/give. It's ridiculous; the amount I get couldn't keep a cat alive. There is a TON I should be asking for, yet don't because I know he won't pay it.

Wow, and I thought our 50.00 a month from DH's ex was a record low! Though, ours is for 2 kids!

Re: Do you think this is silly ? C/S related...
that is absolutely disgusting, but I have one of those also. I just pay it and know that one day their daughter will see what kind of woman she is.
Btw, we pay almost 900 a month for one child and its directly deposited into her checking acct every two weeks (split up) and she still complains.
