Well let's face it...WOuld the Mets be better off using as much funds as they get into getting players. PITCHER.

PLUS it isn't like they get sell out crownds ar most games either.

SO their money is best put else where...NOT on a pathetic desperate attempt to hold the Olympics in NY

This is getting riduculous nowChat Icon

AND WHY would Albany now say...YES to this?

Re: Forget the Jets...Now the Mets

i actually agree with you

1. the mets don't get the crowds
2. there are no businesses nearby that would benefit from the olympics, that area is kind of desolate, and you don't WANT to be in those neighborhoods anyway

Well, I am a Met fan. I don't think they need a new stadium. This is getting ridiculous.

IMO, Bloomberg wants this to be his "legacy" but he would be better off trying to get people off welfare, and really trying to improve the schools instead of making it the PR campaign that it is.

Is it too much to ask that a billionaire mayor have a little sympathy for the average working person? Oh, I forgot, he's too busy throwing Dept. of Ed money to his buddies. Chat Icon

Re: Forget the Jets...Now the Mets

A new stadium in queens for the Mets would be nice but there are more important things that the city needs first that comes before any new stadium...that is new schools. How come noone is talking about building more new schools since the city is already overcrowded.

Bloomberg has been brainwashed with this olympics crap. He is soooooooo not getting my vote for re-election...

Re: Forget the Jets...Now the Mets

After the underpaid workers got the raises they deserved and more schools were opened...then..I wouldn't mind a new shea stadium. As much as I love it, it does need a touch up. But if the reason we got a new stadium is for the freaking olympics then forget it. Shea has been in need of a touch up and now they are willing to give us a stadium cuz of the olympics...so if it wasn't for the olympics they probably wouldn't even consider building a new shea...thanks but no thanks mayor...I'd rather go to games in the old shea and not be inconvienced by going across town to see my boys play their home games in another stadium, that I don't even like, just so we can have the precious olympics.....

Of course the more important things would have to come first before any stadium...
