Re: Creme Fraiche?
Usually not. Specialty gourmet stores have it though! I think Whole Foods also carries it.

Re: Creme Fraiche?
Look for it in specialty shops. They sell it here in the supermarket, in fact I bought it yesterday, but I think it is different in the US.
What are you making? I had a problem a few months ago and couldn't find it and I used sour cream in place of it.

Re: Creme Fraiche?
I found this online...
Creme Fraiche Substitute:
For 1 cup, use 1/2 cup each of sour cream and whipping cream;
or
1 cup whipping cream and 3 tablespoons buttermilk;
cover and let stand 12 hours

I have used the later (cream and buttermilk) in a pinch. It's not as thick but it is a decent sub! Can't speak to the first.
