What was/is your "role" in the church the day of the christening? My godson is being baptized on Sunday and I am starting to get a bit nervous!

Re: Godparents
Honestly, not much. The parents held my goddaughter as they godparents watched over. I held a candle for a little bit. But that was it.

Re: Godparents
What church in Norhtport? I was godmother to my neice in Norhport (St Philip Neri I think) I had to stand there while her mother held her and she was "dunked" then we went back to our seats. Then the GM took the baby up to the alter where they were given a gift from the parish. The the GF had to go up (without the baby ) for hte lighting of the candles!
I have learned (DH and I have 4 godchildren) the each church does it differently!
