I hate the LIRR
Train delays this morning and I waited 15 minutes for the next train which was empty this guy insists sitting in front of me in the single seats when there are 4 next to us completely empty. I told the guy no he cant sit there and he was confused so i got up and moved to another section. The seats are so close and you hit knee caps whats wrong with people. I understand if the train was packed.

I don't ride it everyday but I love the LIRR...I wish the subways ran on time as they do...Not once has there been a delay when i've been on them...

I don't ride it everyday but I love the LIRR...I wish the subways ran on time as they do...Not once has there been a delay when i've been on them...
This is OBVIOUSLY because you don't ride the LIRR everyday!! 
I take MetroNorth everyday BUT last year when I was taking LIRR out to LI to deal with wedding planning, it never failed that each and every time I had an appiontment with a vendor I WAS LATE because of the damn LIRR..
I feel your pain ladies, those trains S*CK

Try riding the subways everyday...that will make riding the LIRR look like a piece of cake...
When it comes to delays noone does it better than the subways...In fact if you looked up delays in a dictionary it would say "see NYC subways"...LOL LOL LOL

so its the MTA since they own the LIRR and subways that stink. the other day i took an earlier train becuase i wasnt feeling well, the train broke down in jamaica with no air and then it took an extra 1/2 hour to get home so technically i got home the same time I would have if i stayed.

Yep it's all connected to the lovely MTA...the best is everytime they raise the token price the service gets crappier and crappier...everytime I hear "thank you for riding the MTA" i'm always like "I have no choice"

OMG I can relate!!!!! I hate the LIRR. Some days I want to hit someone!! My trains were late too this morning (Port Jeff line) and some guy stepped on my foot so bad (I am wearing sandals) that he cut my foot! He didnt even say sorry - just pushed me out of the way to get into the subway car faster. Animal!

I was on the train that got stuck at the signal this morning. I was so ******. We were about 45 minutes late. I could have slept more if I knew that. These trains are pathetic. Last month almost every week our train was cancelled and we had to be bussed. I guess that's what $300 a month gets ya. 
I take the subway everyday as well and I find them a pleasure. Very few times have the trains been delayed that it caused me an inconvienence and that is over 14 years in taking them.

When I lived in Queens I complained about the subways all the time, but now that I have to take the LIRR, I realize how great the subways are! At least the subways are constantly running at all times and you can go anywhere at all at any time for $2.
On the LIRR, if you miss a train you are stuck for 20 minutes - 1 hour for the next train. And, it costs $14 to ride an hour from Huntington during peak times, sometimes while having to stand!

I went to Adelphi, worked in the city and it was the LIRR everyday. I hated it. I had the LIRR and the subway and I could never stay after school because I knew I had to catch a train and if I missed it I would be stuck and then late for work. A few times I walked to the Mineola station because I got bored waiting for the next train to come to Nassau Blvd.
I'll take the subway anyday. As someone mentioned earlier, you can take the subway for $2 and go anywhere at anytime
