Ugggghhhh....Childrens Literature!
Have any of you taken this course????
I have to read 50 childrens books and 6 chapter books!!! That seems like a ton of reading to me!!!
Did you survive?
Will I survive?
Is it worth buying the books?

did you survive - yes, actually enjoyable at times
will I survive - yes see post above
is it worth buying - nope. That's what libraries are for. If you see something you def want, you can always buy it later.
Most books take 5-10 minutes to read. Chapter books an hour or 2.

i read my "childrens literature" all summer long! i love some of those books!

I agree with the PP...don't buy them - get them from the library (you can also do audio books for the chapter books while you go to school or work)
picture books take no time at all

You will definitely survive! I actually loved both of my children's lit (K-3 and 4-6 were seperate classes). If you don't want to spend a lot on the books, I would get them out of the library and then at the end of the semester purchase the ones you liked the most for your future classroom.

Thank You! I read one of the chapter books the other night and started the children's books and you're right....they are actually not so bad! It's extremely overwhelming to have someone tell you that you have to read and write about 56 books but somehow...I've got to get it done!
