Ever have weeks

Where you have no energy to get through your workouts? I am so depressed with how I'm doing this week. I have no energy at all, and I feel like a failure this week. Chat Icon

It happens all the time. Hey, didn't you just post recently about how you are working so hard, have an article due, are taking care of a toddler, etc.? It's been a tough week for you. Everyone has periods where their workouts are not up to snuff. My personal trainer always put it in perspective for me so well: You know how you feel so much weaker, for having not worked out for a week? Well, whatever you lose in a week, you can put back in a week. Nothing tragic there. And hey, if you gain any weight this week - whatever, it's ONE WEEK and you can take it off again just as fast.

Long term, you've been doing great. Focus on that. Chat Icon

This happens to me on occasion. 2 weeks ago I couldn't run more than 3.5 miles on the treadmill which is so not like me. I just listened to my body and did some extra strength training and called a day. By the following week I was back up to my 25 miles a week and two spin classes.

It's ok, give yourself the break your body is begging for adn then pick it up in a day or two.

Thanks - this is how I was feeling - this was the 1st time in years I couldn't get thru a workout - running is new to me, I started a new training schedule, and I think my body was like Chat Icon

Hearing someone like you, who is soooo fit, going thru this makes me feel a little better Chat Icon
