Lap Frames!
I am really into Needlpoint and just started doing Cross Stitch (only because there is much more of a variety to pick from).
I recently bought 2 lap frames (different sizes) and I am soooo EXCITEd to get them in the mail. I think I will be able to stitch so much faster. Do you use a lap frame and what do you think of it?

i've never used one, but i'm excited for you!
would love to see pictures once you get them.
i haven't done any serious embroidery in YEARS. you might inspire me to bring out my hoops, again.
can't wait to see what you create

Thanks so Much!
I just checked and they should arrive on the 7th. My fingers are itching.. I just think they will make things go alot faster and more comfortable.
I just finished a needlepoint of Magnolia Flowers. I should take a picture of it. I actually requested that my birthday present be to have it framed.Image Attachment(s):

Re: Lap Frames!
I cross stitch like crazy! I dont have a lap frame though - you will have to tell me what you think of them when you get them! My mom got me this wooden hoop that came attached to this thing you sit on, but the hoop was like that rough wood, so I could barely even get the Aida fabric into it! I found it more of a hassle than anything else.

Re: Lap Frames!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Them!!
I used the baby frame all weekend. I feel like its a whole new world to sew with 2 Hands! Its weird but really fast and super easy to cut the thread without putting your hands on the fabric.
I am very pleased and wish I had bought them sooner.
(I haven't used hoops, I use the scroll frames)

This is gonna sound weird, but how do you use them exactly? Like what holds them so you are free to stitch with 2 hands? I dont think I'd even know HOW to stitch w/ 2 hands

Yeah I just learning to stitch with 2 hands. They don't move too much from their spots.
I have the fabric on the scrolls (the big scroll is pictureed attached to the larger frame) and I set it right on my lap. I haven't use the big one yet so it might work better on a table. The little one fits perfectly on my lap and I tighten the knobs so the scroll is at the right angle and height for me. That's it. When I have to cut a thread I just flip the scroll upside down, cut, then flip it back.
