Sorry to post this again -- but I'd REALLY like to attend this workshop. DH and I went through a really really rough patch - we're getting better, but I think a workshop like this will help "normalize" our situation and give us some solid pointers to keep us on track. Communication for Couples
A Workshop to strengthen the marriages of couples who have a child
with special needs

This three hour workshop will explore in depth the special
challenges of couples who have a child with special needs.
Participants will learn how to strengthen their connection to one
another with improved communication skills and techniques, to focus
on positive interactions, and to make time to have fun with one
another. Particular emphasis will be placed on the difference in
communication styles of men and women and how to deal with
alternative views of parenting. Practical advice will also be offered
to help couples learn how to stop fights, recover from arguments and
find ways to open their hearts to one another.

This workshop will be led by Victor J. Goldman LCSW and Carolyn
Schwartz Ph.D, a married couple who each have over 35 years working
with couples and families. They also have been teaching ballroom
dancing to couples for the past 15 years.
Carolyn is a clinical psychologist who has 35 years working with
children with special needs, adolescents and adults. She was the co-
founder of the Maryhaven Pre-school, which served children with
developmental
delays.
Victor is a clinical social
worker with 35 years of experience working in the Port Jefferson area
specializing in helping couples. In addition to his clinical
practice, he is the co-founder with Father Francis Pizzarelli of the
Community Alliance of Northern Brookhaven Inc. (a group dedicated to
promoting awareness of drug and alcohol abuse),

Cost: $75 per couple includes the cost of the book for the workshop
Time: Sunday, February 22nd from 11:30am-2:30pm
