Help needed - how to stop?
Ok, so I am 8 months PP. At the turn of the new year, DH and I decided we were going to make a "lifestyle change".
We thought that was a better way of putting it versus "diet".
Anyway, we got off to a great start. But since then have somehow fallen off the bandwagon.
Anyway, I was on the phone with a fellow LIFer and we were discussing treadmills and elipticals and how we both have it yet don't use it.
My excuse was "Well, mine is in the garage and its been really cold. And even if it isn't really cold where would I put Ryan"...blah blah blah
Tell me how to stop making LAME excuses??!?! There really is no reason for me to keep making these excuses. I am so frustrated with myself. I need to just get in a routine and stick to it.
I guess I answered my own question. I need to just get off my butt and do it and stick to it.

Hey, don't be too hard on yourself...we have ALL been there
You just need to do it once, then stick with it. When you find yourself making an excuse, think about times when you say to yourself "I need to do this, I need to get healthy" and try to remember how you feel at that moment. Or, when you are feeling badly about yourself or your lifestyle, then hop on that treadmill. Start with little things. Do it when DH gets home and he can watch the baby.

Re: Help needed - how to stop?
It is definitely hard to find the time to work out with a baby. Trust me, I know! I try to run on the treadmill while DS is napping, but that usually does not work out. Instead I wake up at the crack of dawn to run while DS is still sleeping or after work when my DH can watch him for a half hour. There are also gyms with childcare that I may look into when DS gets a little older. Once the weather gets warmer it will be easier to walk or jog outside with the babies. What I did on my birthday (Jan 10) is decide I would workout at least 3 x per week and I have stuck to that. no ifs, ands or buts! It also helps to post on here for motivation. If you run I suggest you get a Nike+... it is great for motivation.
As for a "diet" I have never been on a diet before and with my IBS it is so hard to eat healthy. Everything that make my IBS feel good is bad for losing weight, and everything that is good for losing weight hurts my IBS. So I have just tried cutting down on candy and snacks and eating out (esp. at the cheesecake factory LOL)

I know eating out is so bad. Believe it or not DH and I never go out to eat anymore. Haven't been out since before DS was even born!
However, I am guilty of eating "crap" while I am home with DS. Whether it be at the Cheescake Factory or around the house.
I need to cut that out too!

Re: Help needed - how to stop?
I bought the biggest lsoer DVD workout and I do it almost everyday. EVERYTIME, before the workout I am making up excuses on why I dont have to work out, blah blah blah. So I force myself to at least get the workout clothes on , that kind of pumps me up. Then I start the DVD and before I know it I am doing it. Its 20 min and I feel great afterwards.
I have a treadmill and a bike , I just found them too boring

I dont even have the junk in my house. But - I bought these 1 pt WW choc mint bars. The other day I ate like 4 in a row! Defeats the whole purpose of 1 pt portion control!
