Will I get better at this????
It took me about 2 hours to write one lesson plan and honestly...I am not even all that impressed with it!!!

Don't stress so much over it; I'm sure it's fine. Just remember it doesn't have to be perfect. There's a lot of sample lesson plans online too & some of the textbooks have pages w/ lesson plans on them.

Don't worry at ALL.  It gets SO much easier, and you will get SO much better once you have the experience to put behind it. I know even now when I look at lessons I did in my FIFTH year (when I REALLY thought I knew what I was doing) that the things I come up with today just make so much more sense. You'll be fine. Lessons are never perfect anyway -- that's why we tweak things year after year. Cut yourself some slack!

Also, it is impossible to make perfect lessons for EVERY single subject every single day. Chances are, you will have a teacher's guide for math so right there, you won't have to write lesson plans for that. If you're lucky, you'll have a guide for reading, so you won't have to worry about that. It does get A LOT easier, I swear. You will one day be at the point where you can walk into the room and just come up with a great lesson 5 minutes before your kids come back from lunch. You'll love it so much you'll go home and spend an hour perfecting it and you'll then have it forever.
Long story short...it gets better!

you will totally get better!
writing lesson plans in a teacher ed. program is so hard because you are doing it with
a) no experience
b) a fake class
c) fake materials and resources
they are so much easier to write in real life... and after a year or two---you don't write them at all. you learn the curriculum and learn what works and can come up with one at the drop of a hat!

It does, I swear! The first year I taught I was on the computer from Friday nights-Sunday morning, LITERALLY, doing my plans for the following week. My district requires Monday's plans on Friday (when you are untenured) and Tuesday-Friday's plans on Monday....my entire weekend was figuring out how to make it all come together.
I'm in my fourth year teaching and aside from the exams and handouts that I make, my actual planning for two different sections I teach takes about 10 minutes. It's great! Hang in there.....it will pay off when you get through the beginning!
*My cooperating teacher told me something on my second day that I'll never forget: If you can make it through your first year, you can make it through 20 with your eyes closed!*

I really admire teachers! I don't know how you come up with constant lesson plans when it takes me FOREVER for 2 simple ones.
