I don't get a spring break
Yea I found out today, my only day off is good friday. Serioulsy FML. Im kinda ****** about it.
Not to mention its my bday week

Yea it blows I wanted to see my sister and nephew in florida. My bday falls on that saturday the day before easter so its not that bad.
However if I try to take off that monday, I wont get paid for good friday.
I kinda miss working in a public school now.

Private School gets away with alot I guess.
I could but still its not enough time personally...I will have to take a day probably to make a long weekend when my nephew gets baptised

I don't want to sound like the "enabler" here for "slacking" but perhaps u can show a movie for a few periods one of those days. (something on the curriculum, of course!)
Perhaps you can also assign a group project the week leading up to that week and that way they can use class time to work in independently on the project.
Just a few ideas  trust me, I feel for you!  If I found out today I wasn't going to get my April break after planning on having that to look forward to, I'd probably pass out!

Oh I will cuz its a "non-academic week" I dont have to teach lessons, im more of a babysitter for 4 days....it what we did during my non xmas break...I also bought games for the kids...so ill teach them to play games and stuff

none of us get paid for the summer
In NYC you do, I was paud last summer even tho i didnt work the whole year...it was prorated.
I wish I could get my checks where they spread out but my job didnt give me the option
