Handmade Greeting Cards

I made all the thank-you cards for DD's b-day. Someone who saw them all approached me today and asked if I would make her some cards to have on hand (b-day, thank-you, get well etc). She said she would pay me. Chat Icon I have NO idea how much to charge for something like that.

I'm not interested in starting a business - but I thought since I love scrapbooking this might be nice to do for her for some extra $$.

How much would you pay per card?

Re: Handmade Greeting Cards

it depends on how much work goes into each card.

Sometimes I get $2-$3 per card but if I am making a bunch of Thank you cards I will charge like .50 per card...again depending on how much work goes into making one.

Hmmm, the only thing I know for sure is every single one of them would be made with Cuttlebug die cuts.

Re: Handmade Greeting Cards

do a search on etsy and see what other people are charging for similar items. then you can move the price up or down depending on how close to this person you might be... ie: close friends get a 10% discount

isn't it so cool when someone recognizes your work??!!!

Re: Handmade Greeting Cards

That's great. I would charge at least what they would have to pay to walk into a store and buy a regular card off the rack. So, the least would be $1.00 but if you are inclined to cut a lower deal, it might not be bad to make a deal like 30 cards for $20-$25. Look at etsy.com and e-bay. Scrapbook supplies are expensive, plus there's the value of your time. I still have the card you made me on display! I know you said to re-use the brads but I don't want to take it apart yet Chat Icon .
