Hey - nothing is as bad as when I taught in central VA...

We didn't have anything between the "Holiday" Break and Spring Break... and Spring Break was a long weekend (Thu, Fri, Mon).

Then we had a day at Memorial Day.

We got out the 2nd week in June.

No complaining ;)

Are you kidding? From April to the end is NOTHING. Even though we only get Memorial Day weekend, it's still the END. It's the time when the countdown starts, and the days FLY because we KNOW it's almost over. There's nothing I like better than the time after April break because the whole mindset changes, and you know you've almost made it through another year.

Not to mention the fact that the week after we come back from Spring Break, it becomes MAY! Ok, I'm freaking myself out; I need to stop. Chat Icon (May means AP Exam... breathing...)

ITA!!! Plus: April = end of curriculum. Once May comes...Regents Prep! And then we only have really the 1st 2 weeks in June before testing.

But it's a different frame of mind at that point...something in the air changes and it's all just different. The nicer weather and the anticipation just make it okay.

After April break there are about 5 weeks until Memorial Day. That is definitely doable. Besides that is wrap up time. Finish up, review and final exams. Once we get back from April break, the time will fly.

I was so excited the other day when I planned out an outline of what I am teaching until the end of the year. It was a great feeling!

considering my husband hasn't had a day off since president's day and doesn't have a day off again until memorial day, i think we have it pretty good! 5 weeks is nothing!

I don't mind the spring stretch, although my middle schoolers will be more hormonal than ever Chat Icon

I love teaching with my windows open, having it be light AND warm for hours after work, getting to wear sandals and sundresses more. I like teaching in the spring a lot!Chat Icon

ITA. I think the LONG month of March has everything to do with cold weather and snow storms. Once April hits, the days fly by.

I like leaving for work WITHOUT de-icing my car Chat Icon If it's warmer in the mornings it makes a difference. Bring on the nice weather!

As far as I'm concerned once we make it this last week, the school year is almost over. I love April, May and June! The warmth makes waking up much less painful!

Re: Everyone always talks about March as being the LONG stretch with no breaks. But...

I know..I get sad when I think about it BUT the only thing keeping me sane is that it is the FINAL countdown! this one stunk because it was only for Spring Break and then we have to come back to another long stretch. The stretch when we get back isn't so bad because it's heading towards the end for us!!! It's going to FLY with only 46 school days left!
