Too much rawhide?
Lacie loves her rawhides. She goes through one like every 3 days. Is this bad? Is there a such thing as too much rawhide? Should I not give her so much of it?

Re: Too much rawhide?
I never give Bama rawhide. I know dogs love it, but it's not good for them, and if they swallow it it can block their intestinal tract.
The only things that I'll give him to chew on are things that he can't bite a piece off of and swallow, like the really hard Nylabones (I think it's called a Galileo).

We never give Denver or Holden rawhide, I have heard that it is very bad for dogs.

I have never heard of rawhide being bad for them. I have given it to her a lot. I guess I should stop

Re: Too much rawhide?
I was at the pet store the other day and was told not to give my dog rawhide. I forget the reason, but she said it was very bad for them.

I just took Lacie's away too. She is not happy. Why is this not more known?

Re: Too much rawhide?
rawhide is not bad in limited amounts. both my dogs are aggressive chewers and LOVE their rawhides, but they do leave them alone after chewing on them for awhile.
They get VERY Thirsty and yes, if they eat too much, it can bloat in their bellies.

Re: Too much rawhide?
I avoid the rawhide, I don't need any more stomach problems with Misty. I give her the hard sterilized bones and nylabones. They last longer anyway. I also buy the Chewlotta and Denta bones and give them to her to clean her teeth.

Re: Too much rawhide?
We give Katie rawhide all the time. She chews but doesn't eat them whole. The vet says rawhides are fine to give her.
We had a pug that would EAT the rawhide all at once and get diarrhea from it.
ETA: My parents dog doesn't even chew them. She just hides them and occasionally licks them, but she still loves them.
