liklihood of getting ss?!?!
so, we might actually be at the point to get ss to stay with us...but i'm not 100% sure - long story short - i recently found out BM is away ....SS thinks she's at school. My DH & I think this is the best time to go for it, but we haven't had the greatest luck getting him...any suggestions? helpful advice? great lawyers? tia

No experience personally but can I just  at the chance of having ss in a stable home!!

I agree it is probably the best time to go for it. DH got our SS when BM was in rehab... I can't recommend lawyers though because he was not living in NY when it all went down. Best of luck at getting your SS in a stable home and healthy environment.

I agree with the others - this is probably the best time to go for it and you probably will be granted custody if she is in jail and guilty of possession. I do not know of a good lawyer though - sorry.

My DH won sole custody of SS when BM admitted to having a meth problem. Basically it was an open shut case. Go for it. Good luck and keep us posted. If I be of any help just FM me.

thank you ladies...i've been in contact with a few lawyers (their secretaries actually) and i'm waiting to hear back from them. this has to happen in fl at the court that had their divorce proceedings. he is on spring break now and with us for the week - his grandpa has been watching him while she's "at school"
i can only hope that it works this time!! i'm concerned that b/c we live in ny now they might have issue with putting him in our home so far away from her- but we've been making it work, making sure we see him every month so that should count for something. i guess i'll have to wait till the lawyers call me back...thanks for the well wishes and hugs. i'll keep u updated!
