Girls night out???
How often do you do "girls nights out"?? practically none of my friends are married, so they go out a lot! I feel kind of guilty, because I never really go out with them. I feel like I always want to spend time with my hubby. I was just curious what you girls do?

Re: Girls night out???
I try and do a girls night like once a month. My dh works a lot and I have so many vacations since I am a teacher that I have a lot more free time than dh so it makes it easy for me to spend time with my girls.
I actually just got back from Dominican Republic with 2 of my girls yesterday. It was like my last hurrah before the house and the baby comes so dh didn't have a problem with it.
I think it is very important to have partts of your life that are deperate from DH and girl time is really important.

I feel the same way. But unfortunately their idea of a fun night is to hit up clubs..They hardly do anything else, which is the main reason why I'm hesitant to go out. I'm way past that part of my life. I did that when I was 21!!!! But I also feel guilty at the same time

Oh that stinks, I would not be out clubbing anymore either. Maybe suggest a girls dinner thing for like a specific date every month, this way you still hang and see them but you dont have to do the club thing with them

Re: Girls night out???
Hmm perhaps you can suggest a day out shopping and getting lunch or dinner, or some dessert out!
Or of course there's always the traditional salon day where all of you could treat yourselves to a mani/pedi

Re: Girls night out???
I usually hang out with my friends on the weekends during the day, sometimes dinner at night, or dinner during the week.
As far going out clubbing or bar hopping, i am 28 almost 29 and those days are long behind me.
If i get invited out to a bar or club i just say that i am busy and can't Its not because i am married, its because i have been there done that and just have no interest anymore.
Also i hang out with my friends with DH, he never minds going out to dinner with 2 or 3 girls its cute

Re: Girls night out???
i think girl nights are VERY important... even for the married folk....
while i wouldnt go out and party like i did when i was 20/21, i dont mind going to a club now and then... but we usually do happy hour or the nutty or sometimes lunch or dinner

Re: Girls night out???
I would say once a month. We always go out to celebrate eachothers bday or other special events. Even if its just dinner and drinks. We are all pretty much either married or in serious relationships and we still make time.
Next month, there is a group of 13 of us going to AC for a friends 30th bday and im really looking forward to a weekend away.
I LOVE my hubby but i need my girl time :)

Re: Girls night out???
very rarely... it's not that I wouldn't love to... but my friends are all busy with their lives & never make plans to hang out... plus I don't really have a group of girlfriends who are all friends with each other. Occasionally I'll go out for breakfast or lunch with a friend, but that's usually the extent of it.

Re: Girls night out???
I guess I am an exception here.. But I LOVE girls night out. In fact I like when DH goes out on his own with his guy friends.
Together we have a lot of same friends. So we do go to bars and dinners with everyone. But for St. Pattys day weekend, he was working and I went to NYC Porkys with out him, with our friends.
When I go out with my girlfriends to bars/clubs etc... it is to help them and support them (a few of my girls are single). So I may dance and such, but I flash the ring and tell someone that I am married if they are coming on too strong.

Re: Girls night out???
I also should mention- Dh and I belong to the same gym.. but tend to go seperately, because of our work schedules.
I belong to a Book Club (besides the LIW/LIF one), and I go to cake decorating class, with out DH. He has his own activities too. We do a HECK of a lot together.. but I think some personal space is good too.

Re: Girls night out???
we hardly do a girls night out anymore. I think it's just pure laziness of planning because every time we do all get together we have a great time and say how we should do a girls night more often. Only 2 of us are married and everyone but 1 girl has a boyfriend so hardly anyone goes out out anymore. When I say girls night it's usually staying in with some wine and a board game which IMO are the best nights!

Re: Girls night out???
I enjoy going out. My friends are more or less in the sameplace as I am. Married or engaged, in school and / or working. I don't have children but a few friends do or are expecting.

Me too! there are actually of couple of girls I've known since grammar school and our husbands have become good friends too so we do try ever few months to get a day where all 6 of us (and their kids) get together at someone's house.
