Haven't posted in a while- gotta vent to someone!

So, my husband & I have been married over 2 yrs. We're talking about when would be a good time to TTC, but here's the thing........I want to quit my job & start my photography career.

Is is dumb of me to leave my job during this economic crap that's going on? If I didn't love the people I worked with, I would've left a year ago!! But honestly, I only see my DH on Sundays. I work 6 days a week & am just soooooo bored there. I'm not happy unless I'm behind a lens snapping pics, and I just don't know if it's the right time to make a move like that just yet. Should I just do it? He supports me with wanting to leave my job, even though 2 incomes are better.

If you've read up till this point, thank you for listening. I just had to get this out!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

If your chasing after your dream, you've got to run faster!!!!! I love that motto.

Start planning it out. I wouldn't quit now but I'd start a plan and make some goals for yourself.

Good luck!!!!

I agree, but you need a plan before you quit. Have the details first then quit, IMO.

I would work on my photography career while working at my job until I have gotten it to the point where it's income producing to at least cover your expenses.

I knew I was going to switch career when I was TTC. I stayed at my company until I gave birth. There was no way I could work especially in my last trimester while PG. I had paid sick days and paid maternity leave at my old job. I left my company when DS was 4.5 months and switched career then. I had prepared my exist, networked, etc....

If you look over on parenting with the all the prof. photos posted I would say if you are good you could be ok! I would like a previous poster said try it out while you are working and make an exit plan, start saving and living on 1 salary. Good luck!

Its a rough situation for everyone and I understand how you feel. We're just married and were planning on TTC but DHs job is not as safe as we though. I always assumed that I would work overtime to make up some of the difference but that's not an option. I know we're not thinking of TTC with our situation right now.

For you I agree with the previous posters. I think it would be a good idea to keep working and start the photography on the side, at least for now.
