How to Improve Memory?

So today at work I got "talked to" basically because my memory sucks, due to me not sleeping well since college.

So what can I do to improve my memory?
TIA.

I think the first thing you should do is talk to your physician about your lack of sleep - even if it entails a sleep clinic.

No matter how much you remember, it will be difficult if you're sleep deprived.

Otherwise, about 12 years ago some guy came up to me at a tournament I was running & remembered my name, etc from the year before. He started raving about this book he got called "The Memory Book". I never got it, but he seemed to be a huge fan of it.

In terms of work I'd start writing things down. The last thing you want is for this to affect your job.Chat Icon

sleep and eat well Chat Icon no junk food, and take care of yourself...

exercise (improves blood flow)

and do something intellectual... just like muscles, the brain improves the more it's worked out

Frankly, it just sounds like you need to sleep and take better care of yourself Chat Icon

More sleep.
More water.
More B vitamins.
Do word puzzles or number puzzles.

Re: How to Improve Memory?

Thanks for the replies.
No doctor has ever believed that I have sleep problems, so I've stopped asking. Can't go to a sleep clinic w/o a rec. Oh well.

I have started drinking vitamin water 10 and sipping water at work. Also trying to remember to take my vitamins.

I'll check into that book!!

DH and I used to do puzzles before bed but we have stopped. I think it'll be a good idea to start again! Chat Icon

I eat fairly well but could be better. Need to find energy to exercise lol I know.. it is a viscous circle!!

I try to write things down.. people talk so fast and get mad when I ask to spell their name or why they are calling Chat Icon Um, it's my job to ask lol
