Can someone share with me...?
what the evaluation entails for a toddler visit to a pediatric neurologist? Just wondering what to expect. How long is it? Do they diagnose right away? What kinds of activities do they do and where do they do it?
TIA

Re: Can someone share with me...?
what are you going for?? When I went, she did an interview about my pregnancy, and then administered the CARRS and another test and gave me the diagnosis at the same visit of PDD.

we're going because of developmental delays.

Re: Can someone share with me...?
We saw a dev. ped, but I'm sure it's the same procedure. She did the CARS (he fell short a few points based on that alone though), took a very detailed history and observed him while we were there for 2 hours. My son is older though, he was 8 when he was diagnosed, so a lot of the stuff on the CARS was stuff he did do when he was younger, but has overcome with his therapies.
Good luck!!

We saw Dr. Xia out of Stonybrook. He didn't do anything... no testing, and he didn't even really try to interact with Lance. It was a waste for us, but I think it really depends on the doctor.
