Ever been to Costa Rica?!?
Dh and I are talking about taking a trip in late December (probably btw Christmas Eve and New Years). We were thinking about Costa Rica. Anyone ever been? Any hotel recommendations?

yes, we honeymooned in CR  We stayed at the Paradisus in Guanacaste and it was fabulous! We flew into Liberia (the smallest airport I have ever seen) and then the drive was about 2 hours to the resort. It is an all-inclusive and has a Royal Service portion which is adults only! We loved it, had a fabulous time and Decemeber is the perfect time to be in CR, right after the rainy season, perfect temp and everything is still green and lush!!

I've never been there BUT I know several people that went.
They loved it! There are so many excursions to do and from what I hear the sights are stunning.

I heard the Four Seasons in CR is amazing.

Check out the Tabacon resort in the city of Fortuna (the Arenal area). It has amazing hot springs.

i'm dying to go there as well! Although i have no clue when that will happen since we just bought a house and are planning for kids very soon. we just went on our last big "couple trip" and it was to disney. I kinda wish we went to costa rica instead (b/c i doubt we will ever go there with young kids, that would be silly to me) and i know we will be back to disney again! Oh well...it was fun and DH really wanted to go there

We are actually going in August we will be staying in Guanacaste at an all inclusive hotel that is part of a timeshare program (mom's friend gave me a week as a wedding present). My co worker just got back and had the best trip ever. I can't wait to go.

Costa Rica is AMAZING! DH and I have traveled alot to alot of places and CR was definately our favorite place. He keeps talking about wanting to buy a condo there.
I did a review on here after we came back, there are a TON of pictures in my album as well.
As an FYI..the time you are looking to go is during their peak time and especially between Xmas and New Years it's VERY expensive and usually hard to find a room.

There were lots of families with young kids from the U.S when we were there. It's a great place for kids!

We went there in Feb 2008 and it was nothing short of AMAZING!!!! We did so many crazy advernturous things like Canopy tours (zip line 120 feet through the rainforest), ATV tours, private boat to Tortuga Island.
It was a beautiful country with friendly people. We stayed in the Central Pacific area in the Jaco region at the Marriot Los Suenos. GOOOOORGEOUS HOTEL!!!!!
I'm not sure of the cost because I went with work. It was def one of the more expensive places we've went but you can definitely get good deals. Check out travelzoo.com! I see CR deals all the time!!!!
