Varicocele with DH

My DH was diagnosed with varicocele from his Urologist. He told him it's not much to worry about that he sees this alot in men. My DH will be going for a s/a at Stony Brook next week and will see from there. He said if that is ok then he might do minor surgery on this varicocele. So, I was just wondering if any of you know about this or have dealt with this? TIA

There is a post about this on the ttc board today. The semen analysis will probably indicate whether or not it's worth to have the surgery or not.

MY DH went to the urologiost, he doesnt have this, but she mentioned they woudl do surgery , which is simple, to remove it, IF it created an issue with the SA results.

my DH has this, they would do surgery but there is no promise it would work. They dont think his varicocele is bad enough to make his counts as low as they are. So we moved on to IVF instead.

My BIL had this and they opted against the surgery and for IVF because there is no guarantee the surgery will improve things, there is a risk of scar tissue keeping the SA low.
BTW, she got PG on her second IVF.

Hi!! I am in the same boat right now. DH was diagnosed and went for his first s/a Monday, and going for his second one on Friday. I guess it is just a waiting game right now. I hope we both get high results
